I am a wife and mom of two preteens who works full time all while balancing some series autoimmune diseases.    More on my story Here.

Over the years through trial and error, I discovered what was keeping me from getting well.  It is the combination of healing foods, movement, and stress management through positive thinking, meditation and exercise.  At first I just followed what the doctors have said and what everyone does: eat “normal” and take my meds.  After changing my diet, I was convinced foods are the way.  Over the years, I have realized just how important exercise is to my ability to keep going and for my mental state.  After years of life’s roller coasters, I am also realizing the impact that stress can have despite how well you are eating.  It’s not all about a specific diet (though nutrition is the foundation) but a whole lifestyle.  I found my health.

My Diet and Exercise regime:

While I believe that there is not one specific diet for all, I do believe everyone benefits from anti-inflammatory eating.  Throughout the past 10 years my diet has evolved as I found what works best for me and it is always changing.  I have adopted a gluten free, dairy free, grain free style of eating.  I do not label myself with Paleo, though it is very “Paleo like”, because I also do not digest dark meat well and therefore eat very minimal to none.

I try to exercise 5 days a week from my home gym.  I really enjoy the Beachbody workouts, but on occasion will create a more traditional weight lifting regime.  I get bored easily so I often like to mix it up.  My goals are to stay active.

How did I learn about Health and Nutrition?

Besides spending countless hours reading everything I cold get my hands on, I pursued a Masters degree in Holistic Nutrition at Clayton College of Natural Health and then took several courses in a dietetics program at Life University.

Where did My Found Health come from?

My Found Health stemmed from my excitement of discovering that we are not helpless victims of disease and we can take control of our health and wanting to share it with all of you.  My Found Health is a place for motivation, coaching, information, advice, recipes, and chronic disease support.
